Dr. Avani Karl has been in General Practice for the past 30 years. For most of this time, Avani was a founding director of a General Practice in Hawkes Bay, prior to moving to live in Auckland.
Avani has diverse interest in several branches as she chose to affiliate with several specialists in different faculties as she was training in NZ. Though she currently does not practice obstetrics, she maintains an interest in women’s health. She has a special interest in treating chronic illnesses like diabetes and heart disease.
As a senior practitioner, she has now taken on the role of governance with the Auckland Faculty of RNZCGP, as well as being a college educator for younger doctors completing their fellowship and registration requirements.
