BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin is Asst.Prof.Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Medicine Research (Computational and Systems Medicine) from Imperial College London.

He received several scholarships and awards, for example, Royal Thai Government Scholarship, Imperial College London STRATiGRAD Studentship, Molecular Medicine Fellowship. Recently, he has been awarded the Young Investigator Grant from National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). In addition, he has been selected as 1 of the 9 researchers working in cholangiocarcinoma research across the world to receive the Sarah Bennett Memorial Fellowship from the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Foundation of United States.

His research interests include 1) diagnostic/prognostic biomarker discovery for cancers and metabolic disorders using multi-omics approach; 2) the metabolic crosstalk between host and microbiota; and 3) the investigation of plant and bacteria-derived bioactive compounds as pharmaceutical agents. 

Dr. Phetcharaburanin currently works as an Assistant Professor of systems biology at the Department of Systems Biosciences and Computational Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Thailand. He is also the Chairperson of Khon Kaen University Phenome Centre and works as an Assistant Dean for Research and International Relations, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. Recently, he has been appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Health Futures Institute, Australian National Phenome Centre, Murdoch University.
